Meet Your Private Guide

Our guide is not a conventional tour leader — he is a field entomologist and naturalist with more than a decade of hands-on field collecting and observation experience across China's major insect hotspots. From tropical rainforests to subtropical evergreen forests, from lowland streams to high-altitude vertical zones, he knows the insect fauna, seasonal rhythms, and microhabitats of each region.

He has contributed to several peer-reviewed papers describing new insect species, and is familiar with the full research process: field collection, specimen preparation, morphological identification, and molecular comparison. This means he can do more than help you “see insects” — he can help you understand them: why they occur here, when they appear, and how they interact with their host plants and habitats.

What truly sets him apart is his deep knowledge of rare species' natural history: their seasonality, elevation range, preferred temperature and humidity, host plants, activity rhythms, and the specific light conditions under which they are attracted. A regular guide knows the route. He knows where the target insects are — and why they are there.

As your private one-on-one guide, he designs each itinerary around your target taxa, interests, and season. He follows strict legal, ethical, and conservation standards: observation first, limited collecting only where permitted, and full respect for wildlife and habitats. English-speaking, patient, and endlessly curious, he will help you explore China's hidden insect kingdom safely, deeply, and responsibly.
